Bavin Glassworks was established
in 1988 by Pat Bavin. The studio was set up in
a garage in downtown Windermere, BC, where creations
in glass were sold right out of the front door!
In 1989, Ryan Bavin (Pat's son) started apprenticing at the age of 15. Bavin
Glassworks grew throughout the 90's as word spread that people could watch the
fascinating and mysterious process of glassblowing at the Bavin Glassworks studio.
In the spring of 2001, Bavin Glassworks decided that they needed to expand to
meet growing demand and an increase in tourism in the Columbia Valley. As a result,
they moved to their current location along Athalmer highway, on the way into
Invermere, BC. Now in their bigger and better studio/gallery, the Bavins continue
to blow glass, and people are still welcome to watch them at work. New to the
operation is a Beadmaking / Lampworking facility, a fusing kiln and a vast display
of different artists from around the region.
